Distribution and habitat.
New Ireland
: 1, 2, 4.—General distribution: Cocos-Keeling Islands (eastern Indian Ocean) and
Indonesia
east to Caroline and Tuamotu islands, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to northern
Australia
and
New Caledonia
. Found in lagoons and on seaward reef slopes, commensal with sea anemones,
1–38 m
depth. Transitional water and marine.
