New Ireland : 1, 2.—General distribution: India east to Caroline Islands , north to Ryukyu Islands, south to northern Australia . Adults on shallow soft bottoms adjacent to coral reefs, also entering lower reaches of rivers and streams, juveniles in estuaries, 1–40 m depth. Freshwater, transitional water and marine.
