Ecology: —Rare (2 collections known), terrestrial in open vegetation; 350–500 m . Notes: —This species and others in the immediate group, including the related A. delicatulum , were studied by Giudice (2001) . Several close relatives appear to occur in Africa and Madagascar , e.g., A. mendoncae Alston and A. madagascariense Rosehdahl. Somewhat more distantly related to the widespread A. philippense and allies.
