Notes:
Kraenzlin (1906)
described
Aeschynanthus cordifolius
based on specimens collected by
Curtis
from
Tidore, Maluku Islands
,
Indonesia
, but by practice of that time, he did not designate a
holotype
. Kraenzlin’s types are known to be held at B, BR, K, M and W (
Stafleu & Cowan 1979
). Two herbarium sheets of
A. cordifolius
collected by
Curtis
from
Tidore, Maluku Islands
,
Indonesia
were traced, one each at E (E00155228) and K (K000939502). The best one and better-preserved specimen K000831702, is designated here as the
lectotype
as it agrees well with the protologue.
