Diagnosis. Profemora in males lacking spine and protibiae with well-defined spine in apical fourth; maxillary palpomere 4 stout, 4.15 times as long as wide; median basal impression of the first visible abdominal tergite welldefined, with short, but well-defined discal carinae; antennomere 9 as long as wide; aedeagus with two lateral groups of variously long sclerites in distal half, parameres with apices bent mesad, lacking apical and subapical setae. Description . Body tricoloured, head and pronotum pitchy black, elytra reddish-brown, abdomen brown, maxillary palpi, antennae and legs brown, maxillary palpi darker than other appendages. Body length 2.03 mm , maximum width 0.82 mm . Head only slightly, 1.1 times as wide as long. External distal margin of maxillary palpomere 2 evenly rounded, palpomere 3 subrectangular, external margin rounded, palpomere 4 slender, 0.29 mm long, 4.15 times as long as wide. Antennae 1.02 mm long, scape about 2.4 times as long as pedicel; pedicel slightly longer than antennomere 3; antennomeres 3, 4, 6 and 8 subequal in length; antennomere 5 strongly elongate, about 1.7 times as long as 6; antennomere 7 slightly shorter than 6, about as long as 8; antennomere 9 as long as wide; antennomere 10 transverse, 1.25 times as wide as long and 1.33 times as long as 9; antennomere 11 0.21 mm long, nearly symmetrical, lacking basal notch. Pronotum about 1.2 times as long as wide, 1.15 times as long and 1.28 times as wide as head. Elytra 1.48 times as long as pronotum, 1.28 times as wide as long. First visible abdominal tergite (IV) with well-defined basal impression, discal carinae short, not reaching basal third of tergite. Profemora lacking spine, protibia with well-defined, straight spine in apical fourth. Aedeagus ( Fig. 22 ) in dorsal view symmetrical, 0.56 mm long, apex of median lobe undivided; endophallic sclerites forming two lateral groups touching distally at middle and situated in distal half; parameres with apices bent mesad, lacking spines. Etymology. Named after the Kanaks, indigenous inhabitants of New Caledonia . Distribution. New Caledonia , Southern Province.
