Remarks: The species, currently restricted to Brazil , has been omitted from modern taxonomic literature since Ramazzotti (1962b) though is still included in species lists (e.g. Assunçäo 1999 ). As the taxonomic position is uncertain Macrobiotus sawayai requires a redescription (indeed, drawings suggested it should be attributed to the genus Minibiotus ).
