Ecology: —Common, terrestrial in wet and semideciduous lowland forests; 150–650(–1000) m. Notes: —A widespread, variable species, together with Adiantum petiolatum (1-pinnate), A. terminatum , A. humile , and probably A. incertum all closely related. Rhizomes long-creeping (cord-like); blades with 1–4 pairs of lateral pinnae; pinnules 10–16 pairs per pinna, apices rounded to acute; pinnules glabrous on both surfaces, abaxially glaucous, margins of sterile pinnules finely serrate.
