Cui (Cui Weidong), sweeping [ 3 ♂ , ICXU ] . Distribution. China ( new record ) ( Xinjiang ). This species is widespread in the Holarctic region, from Ireland east to China , currently known from almost half of the 44 European countries, including the European part of Russia ; it was previously recorded from Kyrgyzstan ( Triapitsyn 2010 ), which is adjacent to Xinjiang , China . Elsewhere, O. hemipterus is recorded from Morocco , Turkey , Canada , and the USA ( Triapitsyn 2010 ; Huber 2012 ). Hosts. Unknown. Comments. Some females of O. hemipterus are brachypterous, while males are always macropterous. This species may be collected in late autumn or even in December, which lead Huber (2012) to suggest that it might overwinter as adults.
