Clypeus not separated from face, forming uniformly convex surface, lower edge of clypeus usually convex or truncate, labrum hidden. Mandibles small and tapered, with lower tooth reduced, not overlapping when closed. Malar space with or without subocular sulcus. Fore wing with areolet present or absent, when present, pentagonal or petiolate. Hind wing with discoidella (abscissa of vein Cu ) present or absent, nervellus reclivous, inclivous or vertical. Ovipositor with or without a notch, not longer than apical depth of metasoma, sheaths with setae along most of the length. Legs, especially hind legs, generally robust.
