(1998) listed Amblyomma kraneveldi (under the name Aponomma kraneveldi ) as an Oriental and Australasian species, but no Oriental records of this tick had been found before the year 2018, when Kumar et al. (2018) collected three adults of Amblyomma kraneveldi in southern India , a record that requires verification. India is therefore provisionally excluded from the geographic distribution of Amblyomma kraneveldi .
