TYPE SPECIMEN: Holotype ♁, by original designation, deposited in SMNHTAU. CURRENT STATUS: Thelairosoma bellanda (Lehrer, 2013) , comb. nov. FAMILY: Tachinidae . REMARKS: Holotype in fair condition but somewhat greasy (especially the abdomen) and with wings and legs partly damaged. The specimen is direct-pinned, with terminalia dissected and kept in a vial with glycerin on same pin. This is the first record of Thelairosoma from Benin ( O’Hara & Cerretti 2016 ).
