Native distribution and occurrence in Central Asia
In Central Asia this species is native to Kopetdagh, Turkmenistan (
Nikitin and Geldykhanov 1988
). Outside its native distribution area, it has been sporadically found in Turkmenistan (ruderal in oases), Uzbekistan (Tashkent City, roadsides; Fergana City, ruderal), and Kyrgyzstan (
Pazij 1974
).
Occurrence in Kyrgyzstan
In Kyrgyzstan, this species had only been recorded as ruderal on experiental fields in the
Chuey
Depression (
Pazij 1974
) on the basis of collections kept at TASH. The second record in Kyrgyzstan was made in 2013 in the factory area east of Kara-Balta Town, lower part of N side of Kyrgyz Range (Fig. 9), together with
Chenopodium vulvaria
and
Anthemis ruthenica
reported here. A few flowering individuals (Fig. 6) were noticed.
Invasion status in Kyrgyzstan
Because of the low number of individuals and the ephemerous nature of the previous record, the occurrence at Kara-Balta looks casual. The species has not yet been established in Kyrgyzstan.
