Body length: 5.50–8.47 (6.70); head width: 0.81–0.90 (0.86); head length: 0.71–0.92 (0.80); prothorax width: 0.92–1.05 (0.98). Very similar in general body shape and colouration to P. ruficollis ( Fig. 3 ). Colouration, dorsal side: pronotum–central region orange yellow, mesonotum brown, urogomphi completely light ivory. Head: central part with small, heart-shaped spot, width of spot at most equal to distance between spot and base of head. Structure generally very similar to head of P. ruficollis , differing in concern detailed morphology of: mandible, anterior margin of nasale, mala, maxillary palp and labial palp. Anterior margin of nasale: medial region (Mr) slightly convex, with clearly visible triangular incision centrally (Fig. 18). Mandible: base with group of a few microtrichia (Bm) dorsolaterally (Fig. 10D). Mala: almost as long as longest apical seta (Fig. 24). Maxillary palp: segment I relatively slender, 2.1 x as long as wide (Fig. 24). Labial palp: length ratio of segments I:II: 1.6:1.0 (Fig. 26); segment I of labial palp longer than ligula, segment I about 3.7 x as long as wide. Thorax. Similar in structure to P. ruficollis , differing some in the chaetotaxy of pronotum and legs. Pronotum (Fig. 30): with 23 pairs of setae (A1–3, Da1–2, Db1, Db3–4, L1–11, P1–4 and a few additional tiny). Leg (Figs 36, 37): femur (Fe) with 31 setae (Ad1–3, Al1–4, Av1–2, Pd1–10, Pl1–5, Pv1–4, V1–3 ); tibia (Tb) with 18 setae (Ad1– 6, Al1–3, Av1–4, D1, Pd1–2, Pl1–2); tarsungulus (Ts) 5 x as long as wide at the base, and about 2.9 x as long as seta Al1 (Fig. 37). Abdomen. Similar in structure to P. ruficollis except arrangement of setae on urogomphi, length ratio of segments and three brown rings. Urogomphus (Fig. 46): segment I slim, about 11 x as long as wide at base, with 9 long setae (D1, L1–3, Ld1, Lv1–2, V1–2 ), 1 short seta (D2) and 2 pores anteriorly; length ratio of segments I: II: apical seta of urogomphus: 3.5:1:1.5. First larval instar (L1). Body length: 3.03–5.01 (3.8); head width: 0.61–0.66 (0.63); head length: 0.5–0.71 (0.60); prothorax width: 0.49–0.7 (0.63). Head. Mandibles: bunch of microtrichia weakly visible (Bm) (Fig. 10E). Anterior margin of nasale (Fig. 19): medial region (Mr) with 2 small obtuse teeth separated by triangular incision. Labial palp (Fig. 27): length ratio of segments I: II: 1.2:1.0. Colouration: leg light yellow, abdominal tergite–IX brown, X light yellow, urogomphi–base brown, remaining part light yellow. Abdomen (Fig. 48). Urogomphus (Fig. 48): segment I gradually narrowed to apex, about 5.6 x as long as wide at base, with 9 long setae (D1–3, L1, 2, 4, 5, Lv1, V1 ) and 1 short seta (Ld1), dark brown cuticula with reticulate microstructure forming one ring basally; length ratio of segments I: II: apical seta of urogomphus: 1.9:1:3.3.
