Theognete maturini Anderson , new species ( Figures 148 , 183 , 218 ) Diagnosis. Size. Length, male, 3.20–3.77mm ; female, 3.51–4.27mm . Width, male, 1.91–2.14mm ; female, 1.91–2.36mm . Pronotum weakly cordate, moderately densely punctate, scales moderately large, dense, appressed to suberect; flanks with punctures distinct but lacking sulci. Elytra with scales dense, plumose, suberect, linearly arranged, apices overlapping; basal margin at humeri with low rounded swelling or tooth; posterolateral area of elytra with 2 to 4 distinct to subcontiguous punctures. Mesosternum with deep, pilose, pitlike impression. Aedeagus as in Fig. 183 . Geographical distribution . Honduras ( Santa Bárbara , Yoro ) . Natural history . Collected from berlese extraction of upper montane forest leaf litter at 1400m and cloud forest leaf litter at an elevation of 1850–1870m . Derivation of specific name . Through his support of the Nature Discovery Fund at the Canadian Museum of Nature, this species is named after Stephen Maturin of North York, Ontario , Canada , as a gift from Adam Quinan.
