Ratio of length flagellomere 2 / height of eye 0.88-1.00. Male: 2.9– 3.8mm . No significant variability in colour pattern of specimens examined. Total number of specimens examined: 12. Genetic data. COI barcodes of species of this complex, as well as E. oblita , are highly similar, and not useful for identification. Similar species. Females are most similar to the other segregates with typically extensively pale orbits: E. plicadaphnoides , E. prussica . Bionomics. Host plants: Salix purpurea ( Kopelke 2007a ) , Salix purpurea × silesiaca ( Beneš 2015a ) . Biology: Beneš (1968a; as Phyllocolpa leucapsis ) , Kopelke (2007a) . Distribution. Mainly in Central Europe ( Kopelke 2007a ), but also Greece : 1 fem., 11.5.2007 , Nom. Evritania, Karpenisi E 4km , Agios Nikolaos, 900 m . , 38.91666°N 21.78333°E , leg. Liston (SDEI) [first record from Greece ]. Occurrence in Sweden : published records; Skåne ( Benander 1966, as Pontania leucapsis reared from Salix purpurea ), Västergötland ( Wahlgren 1960, as galls of Pontania leucapsis on S. purpurea ).
