Wingspan 14–16 mm ; forewing ground color grayish white; basal area black mottled pattern; costa strigulae 1 to 6 light gray and 7 to 9 white, indicated by pair; strigulae located in basal and median fascia confluent with wing pattern, indistinct compared to terminal fascia; tornal blotch dark brown, with silver spot, subtriangular pattern, from dorsum 2/3 to tornus; apex dark brown; speculum ground color dark brown, inner and outer line of speculum color silver, line of speculum extended to tornus, with 3 to 5 small black inner spots; hindwing dark apricot; cilia dark apricot, bright apricot towards abdomen; abdomen dark brown. Male genitalia . Uncus absent; socii conical, rounded apex; tuba analis membranous; tegumen strong; aedeagus 1/2 of the length from tegumen to vinculum, bends lightly, deciduous cornuti; vinculum small; caulis inverted trapezoid; valva long, tapering neck; basal opening about half width of valva, round rectangular shaped; sacculus hairy; cucullus subrectangular, setae moderately dense; one pollex on edge. Female genitalia . Papillae anales with long and short hairs; lamella antevaginalis towering, medially concave, bifid peaks; colliculum long more than half of ductus bursae length; corpus bursae spherical; signa pair, horn-shaped, difference size. Distribution. Korea (GN, GG, GW) ( Byun et al . 1998 ), China ( Zhang & Li 2005 ), Japan ( Nasu 2021 ), Russian Far East (Siberia) ( Kuznetzov 2001 ). Remarks. This species was first recorded by Park (1983) , who synonymized S . prognathana with S . albicana . In this paper, we consider S . prognathana as a separated species (see some detailed information in the “Remarks” subsection of the latter species).
