Anterior margin rounded, posterior margin slightly pointed. Outer surface glossy with concentric fine growth striae. Hinge plate with two cardinal teeth and a ligamental groove. Distinct lamellate lateral teeth on the right valve parallel to the dorsal margin. Type locality 154 m off Goto Islands , Tosa Bay , southern Shikoku , Japan . Distribution Japan , 40–300 m , sandy mud ( Higo et al. 1999 ), Conic Island Cave, Hong Kong (this study). New record for Hong Kong .
