Figure 19E Identification. Perennial tussock grass, 40–82 cm height. Leaf-blades filiform, involute, glabrous or hairy, 8.5–22.0 cm long, 0.01–0.3 cm wide, ligulate. Distinguished by its inflorescence with 2 sub-conjugated branches, 5–11 cm long, with green and purplish rachis with solitary spikelets covered with white trichomes. Remarks. Common species over shallow soils on the native grassland. Brazilian range. Midwest (except MS state), South ( PR state ) and Southeast (except ES and RJ states) regions. Materials examined.
