This rare species was described from India ( Ananthakrishnan 1961 ) and is new to Saudi Arabia . The species is similar to E. hemavarna , but can be distinguished by the distance between median metanotal setae being more than three times the distance between the median and sub median setae, and the male fore tibia without a tooth. In contrast, E. hemavarna has the distance between the metanotal median setae sub equal to the distance between the median and sub median setae, and the male fore tibia bears a tooth (Bhatti 1975).
