( P .) bickleyi were re-identified as Proctolaelaps regalis De Leon by Halliday et al . (1998: 32); (b) Lindquist & Hunter (1965: 18) suspected P . bickleyi to be a junior synonym of Garmania lewisi Garman & McGregor ; (c) Chant (1963: 269) ; Karg (1985: 192, 1988a: 448) and Farrier & Hennessey (1993: 42) considered P . lewisi and P . garmanis to be conspecific with P . bickleyi . We adopted the interpretation of Halliday et al . (1998: 32), considering the first two species to be conspecific but different from P . bickleyi .
