).—Habitat: This species is a mountain stream species. It occurs in fast-flowing rivers and streams in mountainous areas, clinging to stones and rocks over sandy and sandstone bottoms; it is also found in some mountain and piedmont reservoirs. Freshwater.

Locally consumed, but of no commercial importance.
