Specimens photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 8 Feb. 2007 and 13 Oct. 2007 ; a video of a specimen taken at Anelaua Island , off eastern New Hanover , at 3–16 m depth, St. KR 98, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell ). Distribution and habitat. New Ireland : 1, 2.—General distribution: Red Sea, East and South Africa east to Tonga , south to New Caledonia . Found in lagoon and seaward reefs, including bays and estuaries, 2–200 m depth. Transitional water and marine.
