Diagnostic features
Appendage unbranched, consisting of several superposed, almost globose cells separated by constricted septa. Some of these cells in middle and upper region of appendage with antheridia as corner cells in both sides. Perithecial apex showing four small teeth below the conical tip (

Only known on
Bryaxis bulbifer
from the

Remarks
First record from
Denmark
. Before its description,
C. bryaxidis
was confused with
Cryptandromyces elegans
(
Majewski 1999
)
but this is much larger, brightly coloured and typically bears flask-shaped phialides on the inner lower side of the appendage.
