A hotspot of endemism: Oreophytic Taraxacum species (Compositae, Crepidinae) in the mountains of Bulgaria

Taraxacum szepesfalvyi
Pénzes (1948: 7)
Described from the Pirin („Mosgovica“), probably from along the Mozgovica River, towards Mt. Mozgovishki Shukar. From the protologue description it might be inferred that this name is referable to
T.
sect.
Crocea
(glabrous leaves and scapes, leaves narrow, to linear-lanceolate, not divided). It might represent an entire-leaved form of
T. paludosiforme
but the achene figure (
Pénzes 1948: 7
) differs from the achene characters in
T. paludosiforme
. As we did not locate the
type
specimen, we leave this name for further study.
