This species was previously known from the
type
locality in
Sucre State
,
Venezuela
.
These
are the first specimens reported from
Lara State
in the southern foothills of the
Sierra
de
Portuguesa
in the Venezuelan Andes. The site is in a protected area and is part of an important biodiversity center for the
Andean Cloud Forests
ecoregion.
