Type species Eurydice pulchra Leach, 1815 , by monotypy. Remarks. Diagnoses to the genus have been given by Bruce (1986) ; Kensley (1989) ; Brusca et al. (1995) ; Schotte and Kensley (2005) ; Jones and Nithyanandan (2012) . Diagnostic characters are the reduced frontal lamina that lacks a flat ventral surface, ventrally projecting beyond clypeus, antenna with four peduncular articles, antennula peduncle article 2 at right angles to article 1, maxilliped endite lacks coupling hooks and pleonite 5 with free lateral margin that are not overlapped by pleonite 4; the appendix masculina is inserted about halfway along the endopod mesial margin; the uropodal peduncle not produced along the mesial margin of the endopod.
