Etymology.
The specific epithet is an adjective and refers to the body colour of the
black morph
of the new species. Latin
furvus
= black.
Diagnosis.
Both males and females of
C. furva
sp. nov.
can be separated from
C. tinae
Patel & Patel, 1973
and
C. zetes
Simon, 1897
by the following combination of characters: dorsal opisthosoma of
C. furva
sp. nov.
with longitudinal bands, but in both
C. tinae
and
C. zetes
dorsal opisthosoma possesses transverse bands; embolus of
C. furva
sp. nov.
is short, while
C. tinae
and
C. zetes
with comparatively longer emboli;
C. furva
sp. nov.
with nearly medially placed copulatory openings, while in
C. tinae
and
C. zetes
, copulatory openings lying close to the posterior border of the epigynum (compare
