Procorticacarus nasutus n. sp . , holotype female: A = dorsum; B = venter; C = palp + capitulum. Scale bars = 50 µm. Description . Female: Idiosoma ventrally 454 long, dorsally 413 long and 389 wide. Integument with hair-like papillae. Dorsum with two anteromedial plates, 70 long; postocularia lying in posteromedial corner. Gnathosoma indistinctly separated from venter (partly fused?). Gnathosoma with a long posterior process. First coxae medially widely separated. Fourth coxae with a nose-shaped medial extension; Cxgl-4 lying in the middle of fourth coxae. Genital field 180 wide, with three pairs of acetabula; anterior acetabulum 34 long. Length of P1-5: 20, 76, 121, 146, 54. P2 with a ventral projection with minute papillae; ventral margin of P3 without papillae, medial margins with a wrinkled sculpturation; P4 slender, setal tubercles located far posteriorly, wrinkled sculpturation only in posterior third of segment. Remarks . The only other known Australian species with P3 without papillae is P. angulicoxalis , but in this species Cxgl–2 is lacking (present in the new species), the fourth coxae is without the nose-shaped medial extension, and P3 and P4 are less slender compared to the new species.
