Comment.
The distribution of
Saprinus
(
S.
)
chalcites
covers a vast territory and is comparable with the following species. It is found in the entire Mediterranean subregion, Africa, in the Arabian Peninsula and in Middle Asia,
India
,
Burma
and it has also been introduced into
Australia
(
MAZUR 2011
). It is another typical saprobiont found on carrion and mammal excrements. First record from
Socotra
.
