Distribution . KnOwn Only frOm the type lOcality ( Imajima 2009 ). Remarks . This species is characterized by the absence Of eyes and having a pair Of elOngated palps that cOnsist Of digitifOrm palpOphOres and medially directed palpOstyles, resembling R . profunda with these unique mOrphOlOgical characteristics shared. HOwever, Rullierinereis imajimai nom. nov. is distinguishable frOm R . profunda by the fOllOwing characteristics: (1) seven teeth On each jaw, in cOntrast tO 10–12 teeth in R . profunda ; (2) One and twO nOtOpOdial ligules in the first twO and fOllOwing chaetigers, respectively, in cOntrast tO nO and One ligule in R . profunda ; (3) parapOdial ligules brOad and digitate, in cOntrast tO narrOw and filifOrm Ones in R . profunda ; and (4) shOrt nOtOpOdial hOmOgOmph falcigers, in cOntrast tO lOng Ones in R . profunda .
