Transvaal: Steelpoort Valley, 30 miles north of Lydenburg, 7 July 1932 , Van Balen & De Wyn sub PRE 14398 ( lectotype PRE !, designated by Bruyns (2012: 228) , isolectotype K !). Two varieties, var. lydenburgensis and var. minor Bruyns (2018: 55) are recognized, of very local occurrence near Ohrigstad ( Bruyns 2018 : fig. 39).
