Basonym: Lactobacillus oeni Mañes-Laet al . 2009, 2013 VP L. oeni cells are mostly motile and they grow at pH 4.5–8.0 but not at pH 3.3 and with 10 % ethanol. L-Malic acid is transformed into L(+)-lactic acid. They produce exopolysaccharide from sucrose [ 203 ]. The genome size of the type strain is 2.12 Mbp. The mol% G+C content of DNA is 37.3.
