Prodorsum: Lamellae with sharp cuspis, rostral setae thin, arising near to them. Lamellar setae phylliform, originating in the interlamellar area. Prodorsal surface without any structure. Sensillus long, with dilated, laminate head. Tutorium denticulate. Notogaster: Dorsosejugal region normal. Its surface evenly convex without any structure. Ten pairs of notogastral setae present. Coxisternal region: Apodemes and epimeral borders well observable, but bo. 3 short. Median area cordiform. Epimeral setal formula: 2 -1-3- 3. Anogenital region: Along the genital aperture a pair of longitudinal costulae present. Anogenital setal formula: 6 -1-2- 3. All adanal setae phylliform. Lyrifissure iad originating far from the anal aperture. Type species: Phyllocarabodes octogonalis Balogh et Mahunka, 1969. Bolivia.
