Note.
The single putative synapomorphy proposed for
Corinna
by
Bonaldo (1996
,
2000
), the sclerotized conductor in the male palp, has not been phylogenetically tested. While there is little dispute that this condition really refers to a modification of the hyaline conductor, it is not clear if this state is the result of a single event or if the various shapes of the sclerotized conductor across the
Corinna
species groups represent different instances of transformation. A formal phylogenetic analysis may lead to the redefinition of the genus to include fewer groups of species or even only the species here addressed.
