In Canada found in litter at the base of a tree in a silver maple swamp, captured by Lindgren funnel traps in a silver maple swamp, in flood debris along river margins, in moss near waterfalls, in garden on bare soil in forested residential area, among decaying corncobs and cornhusks near a home in a forested residential area, in hedgerow in agricultural fields, pastures, and blueberry fields ( Webster et al. 2009 , Klimaszewski et al. 2018 ). In Europe reported from synanthropic habitats such as urban meadows, lawns, fallow areas, gardens, strip mines, and in pioneer vegetation; it is also found in swamps, bogs, flood plains, riverbanks, meadows, grasslands, in leaf litter, moss, grass, compost, rotting debris, and under reeds and ferns ( Assing 1999 ).
