Diagnosis. General body color brown to dark brown; femora yellowish on basal half and brown on apical half; ventrally with silvery setae on basal half; tibiae brownish with a basal and an medial yellowish ring. Anterior lobe of pronotum with a pair of reniform whitish maculae; posterior lobe between humeral angles with a distinct conical projection ( Fig. 15 A). Forewing with a basal white macula, elongated and narrow, starting from humeral angle and ending at posterior lobe of pronotum; at apex other three white maculae, the central being strongly convex and the lateral ones small and rounded ( Fig. 15 A). Small black denticles on inner surface of fore and hind tibiae. Intersegmental region between meso- and metasternum without small tubercles. Intersegmental region of connexives with silvery setae. Anterior margin of abdominal sternites III–VII with a transverse area without setae, becoming larger towards apex (as in Fig. 5 B). First genital segment of male with posterior margin slightly convex dorsally. Male proctiger without dorsal projection. Paramere without setae, narrow on base, tapering towards apex, which is rounded ( Fig. 16 E). FIGURE 16. Discussion. This species is known only from the macropterous form and previously recorded only by the original description from French Guiana and Pará State, Brazil . Its geographical range is herein extended to central-western and southeastern Brazil . P. conata can be easily separated from all other species of the genus by the distinct conical projection of pronotum ( Fig. 15 A). It shares some characters with P. bipunctata sp. nov. ( Fig. 5 ), like a pair of white maculae on anterior lobe of pronotum; small black denticles on fore and hind tibiae; absence of tubercles between meso- and metasternum; connexives with silvery setae; apical macula of forewings with similar shape; and transverse areas without setae on abdominal sternites. However, both are easily distinguished by the presence of a conical process on the pronotum of P. conata , absent in P. bipunctata sp. nov. Material examined. All specimens macropterous.
