Species of Ebinania , Neophrynichthys , and Psychrolutes (collectively Psychrolutinae) are distinguished from other psychrolutids in sharing a soft interorbit with the frontal laterally expanded to form a thin flexible orbital rim (Jackson & Nelson , 1998). Species of Ebinania differ from those of Neophrynichthys and Psychrolutes in having prevomerine teeth.
