Diagnosis.
Pronotum coarsely, densely punctured. Pronotal punctures coalescent so that interstitial surfaces raised laterally, granulate to tuberculate. Lateral pronotal margins in dorsal view strongly arcuate but constricted at base. Elytra dull with rounded tubercles of several sizes. Prosternal process obsolescent. Profemoral teeth in most males well-developed as in
E. extricatus
,
sometimes reduced to an angulation. Ental protibial spur of female twice size of ectal. Probasitarsomere with pencil of dark setae at apex of plantar groove in males, obsolete in females.
The coarsely and densely punctured pronotum and dull elytra with rounded tubercles of varied sizes will readily separate this species from its congeners.
