( Figs. 20 , 21 ) Diagnosis . Males of this species are similar to those of Lepidostoma niigataense sp. nov. ( Figs. 7–11 ), but are clearly discriminated from the later by the small rectangular projection on the laterocaudal corner the main article of each inferior appendage ( Fig. 20 E, G). FIGURE 21 . Distribution of the 5 species of the Lepidostoma coreanum Species Complex of the genus Lepidostoma . The plot in North Korea was referred from Kumanski & Weaver (1992). Male ( Fig. 20 ). Antennae about 5.0 mm long, each with scape setose, thick and long, about 1.5 times as long as head, short mesal process near middle. Maxillary palps setose, each 2-segmented, 0.8 mm long in total, long basal segment covered with short setae, short apical segment densely covered with long setae. Labial palps each 3- segmented, slender, 0.8 mm long in total. Wings covered with fine setae, short scales, and spindle-like setae; spindle-like setae lining cubital area; forewings each with apical forks 1 and 2, discoidal and thyridial cells, and arculus, costa curved anteriorly, venation of caudal area complex ( Fig. 20 C); hind wings each with apical fork 1, venation of caudal area complex ( Fig. 20 D); forewings and hind wings each 4.2–4.6 mm long and about 4.0 mm long, respectively (n=3). Genitalia . Abdominal segment IX short. Segment X composed of mesal and lateral arms; mesal arms elongate posteriorly, lateral arms subtriangular, about 1/2 as long as mesal arms, both pairs of arms blunt apically. Ventral arms completely absent. Inferior appendages each composed of main article, dorsal hook, and inner hook; basal half of main article broad in lateral and ventral views with serrate posterior margin and small rectangular projection at postero-lateral corner; apical half of main article bar-like, directed posteromesad with spiny apex; dorsal hook directed laterad with subacute setose apex; inner hook much shorter than dorsal hook, bar-like, directed lateroposterad in ventral view. Phallic apparatus thick, membranous in apical half, with inner U-shaped sclerite, paramere absent. Female and immature stages . Unknown. Holotype : Japan , Ryukyu Islands, Ishigaki-jma : 1 male , Ishigaki-shi, Shiramizu, small tributary of Naguragawa, 24˚24’46”N, 124˚09’51”E, 15 m , 17.x.2005 , T. Ito (CBM-ZI 151265 ). Paratypes . 2 males , same data as holotype (CBM-ZI 151266151267 ). Etymology . The specific name refers to the name of the type locality. Distribution ( Fig. 21 ). Japan (Ryukyu Islands: Ishigaki-jima). Known from only the type locality. Habitat . Adults were collected beside a small water flow ( 30 cm wide, 1 cm deep) in a forest. Japanese name . Ishigaki-sunatsutsu-tobikera.
