Diagnosis
The largest member of the
balteata
group, patterns strikingly contrasting, colour of the bands on the forewing upperside distinctly pink, and not red-brown as in the related species. The uncus is broader than in the other species. COI-barcode: the observed distance to the genetically most similar species (
C. jakobi
sp. nov.
) is 6.0%.
