Diagnosis. Species of the genus Notiphilides can be distinguished from other Oryidae by the following combination of characters: last pair of legs with 6 segments ( Figs 1 C–D, 2E–F, 7E–F, 9E–F), 1̄3 rows of paratergites along the body ( Figs 6 A–B, 13A–B) and tergites with two shallow pits in the anterior portion, slightly offset to the side ( Figs 6 C, 13C). Composition. Five species: Notiphilides maximiliani (Humbert & Saussure, 1870) N. saussurei Sseliwanoff, 1881 N. erga Chamberlin, 1950 N. grandis Brölemann, 1905 N. amazonica sp. n.
