Description.
Length about
2.8–3.2 mm
. Body almost concolorous, reddish brown to dark brown. Body about 2.3 times as long as wide (
Fig. 2
), with dense, yellowish pubescence on dorsum. Head with seta bearing punctures sparser and finer than on pronotum, weakly microreticulate. Occiput without occipital carina, glabrous, strongly microreticulate. Antenna club (
Fig. 4
) with 4-articles, antennomeres 1–5 longer than wide and other antennomeres wider than long, antennomere 2 as long as 3, antennomere 11 pentagonal and weakly pointed at apex. Clypeus almost straight on anterior margin. Labrum hexagonal, slightly emarginated at apex. Mentum (Fig. 8) emarginate at apex. Mandible with blunt incisor tooth, and with or without a small and blunt median tooth at apical one third, smooth molar lobe present. Galea (Fig. 6) with proximal sclerite bearing 3 long and blunt setae, lacinia with 1 large and blunt seta at apex. Pronotum with scattered large and small seta bearing punctures, weakly microreticulate. Elytra little wider than pronotum, with large and small seta bearing punctures and without longitudinal striae, sutural stria distinct and slightly curved, not microreticulate. Prosternum weakly pubescent, strongly microreticulate. Mesosternum with mesosternal carina, less pubescent, microreticulate. Metasternum densely pubescent, large seta bearing punctures absent laterally, weakly microreticulate. Tarsal formula 5- 5-
5 in
both sexes. Protibia (
Fig. 10
) with many blunt setae at apex, protarsus dilated in both sexes. Metafemur (Fig. 12) with a long and slender projection at apex in male, serrated along lower margin in male, metatibia straight in both sexes. Abdomen with 4 visible sternites in female and 5 visible sternites in male, intersegmental membranes between sternites long and with a brick-wall surface pattern. Aedeagus (
Figs. 14 and 16
) stout. Parameres relatively short, triangular in dorsal aspect, thin in lateral aspect, some large setae present at base dorsally, abundant long setae present ventrally. Basal bulb moderately emarginated at dorsal apex, oval and nearly curved laterally. Spermatheca (Fig. 18) tubular and slender at base, expanded apically.

Remarks.
This new species is similar to
C
. (
M.
)
appendiculatum
Sahlberg, but is distinguished from it by having the striking projection of the male metafemur without setae (Fig. 12).
Colon
(
M.
)
appendiculatum
has a projection with some apical setae.
Colon
(
M.
)
shini
is also close to
C.
(
M.
)
itoi
Hisamatsu, but can be distinguished by its body length of
2.8–3.2 mm
, male metafemur relatively weakly curved (Fig. 12), and aedeagus relatively short in dorsal aspect (
Fig. 14
). In contrast,
C.
(
M.
)
itoi
has body length of
1.8–2.7 mm
, male metafemur with a projection curved sharply and posteriorly, and aedeagus relatively slender in dorsal aspect.
Etymology.
Named for Mr. C.-W. Shin who collected the specimens.
