Description
. Male (the
holotype
). General color black, with yellowish elements (
Figs. 1A–C
,
2
B); central part of facial part of head (
Fig. 2
A), thoracic and abdominal tergites black; eyes and antennae brownish; vertex, areas at ocellar spots, lateral parts of head and mouthparts yellowish; pronotum and, in less degree, mesonotum bordered with yellow along anterior and lateral sides, metanotum and abdominal tergites bordered with yellow along lateral sides; pro-, meso- and metanotum with yellow spots on caudal margins; legs contrastingly colored (
Fig. 1C
), brown, partly yellowish; abdominal sternites reddish brown; cerci and styli yellowish. Surfaces lustrous; antennae with lustrous proximal 12–13 segments, the rest of segments dull; thoracic and abdominal tergites strongly punctuated, somewhat rugose, with longitudinal inflations (
Figs. 1B
,
2
B); facial part of head punctuated, with wrinkles above mouthparts (
Figs. 1A, C
,
2
A). Head distinctly rounded at vertex, slightly longer than wide (
Figs. 1A, C
,
2
A); ocellar spots distinct; distance between eyes about as long as eye length; distance between antennal sockets about 2.2 times of the scape length (
1 mm
); approximate length ratio of 3rd–5th segments of maxillary palps 1: 1:. 1.1. Thoracal tergites convex; thoracic and abdominal tergites laterally margined (
Figs. 1B
,
2
B). Pronotum campaniform, anterior and lateral margins semicircular; meso- and metanotum transverse; pro- and metanotum with posterior margin weakly projected caudally, mesonotum with posterior margin nearly straight; posterolateral margins distinctly attenuate caudally (
Figs. 1B
,
2
B). Anterior margin of fore femur armed as in the type B, with 5 spines, including 2 apical ones. Fore tibiae thickened distally (
Fig. 2
C), all tibiae distinctly dorsoventrally flattened. Claws symmetrical, simple; arolium vestigial (
Fig. 2
F). Anal plate (tergite X) with caudal margin rounded, median incision indistinct (
Fig. 2
G); cerci short, dorsoventrally flattened, with indistinct segmentation, densely covered with bristles from below (
Fig. 2
H, I).
Variations
. The facial part of head in the
paratype
more sculptured, rugose. Approximate length ratio of 3rd–5th segments of maxillary palps 1: 1: 1.3. Anterior margin of fore femur with 5 spines, including 1 apical one. Anal plate with caudal margin very weakly incised. Sclerite R3 of male genitalia with cranial apex bent upward in less degree (
Fig. 3
F); R5 comparatively larger than in
holotype
, irregularly sclerotized (
Fig. 3
E).
Female unknown.
Measurements
(mm). Head length: 4.5 (4.5), width 4.3 (4.3), pronotum length 5.7–6.3(5.7), width 8.8–9.3(8.8), mesonotum length 2.7–3(2.7), width 9.4–10(9.4), metanotum length 3.0(3.0), width 9.8–10.1(9.8). Measurements in parenthesis are those of
holotype
.
Comparison
. As given for the genus.

The new species is somewhat similar to
Placoblatta rugosa
Bey-Bienko, 1969
, but readily differs from it in the absence of tegmina and the structure of the apical part of sclerite L2D (
Anisyutkin 1999
).
