Remarks. The seven
syntypes
seen are dry-mounted on a microscope slide, the cover slip ringed by paraffin wax. Most are complete, one male and one female have the heads broken off but present, and some have broken legs and antennae. The other six
syntypes
from Manjakatompo mentioned by Risbec were not located – it is possible that they are at the MRAC.
Risbec’s (1953)
spelling of
Brachynostemma
is an incorrect subsequent spelling, the correct spelling is
Brachinostemma
.
B. sylvaticum
has been placed in
Inostemma
since
Brachinostemma
and
Inostemma
were synonymised by
Masner (1964b)
.
