Panghoella nera
sp. nov.
Figs 48A–I
Diagnosis.
Structure and coloration very similar to
P. maculosa
but differing in the straight aedeagal shaft and thinner basal processes. Apex of shaft angularly produced dorsally as in the case of
P. suiyangensis
(Xing & Li)
another species in the
P. maculosa
species group, but the latter species differs from the new species in having curved aedeagal shaft with more or less sinuate basal processes.
Description
. Coloration and structure similar to that in
P. maculosa
.
Male genitalia
. Pygofer about 1.4× as long as height in lateral view, posterior margin rounded, (without a dorsal marginal process). Subgenital plates about 3× as long as wide at base, basal sclerotized area 0.45× as long as total length. Style and connective as in
P. maculosa
. Aedeagus with dorsal apodeme and shaft subequal, shaft more or less straight, slightly nearer apically in lateral view and with short triangular expansion on lateral surface near apex, basal pair of processes thin needle-like, slightly sinuate at base and then more or less straight and shorter than shaft in lateral view.
Measurements
. Male
5.5 mm
long,
1.3 mm
wide across eyes and
1.5 mm
wide across posterolateral angles of pronotum.

Etymology
. The species name (nera) is a word in the Kannada language meaning straight, referring to the straight aedeagal shaft and ventral processes of the aedeagus; noun in apposition.
Remarks
.
P. nera
sp. nov.
is a part of the species complex of
P. maculosa
and differs from the two forms illustrated here (
Figs 47
GHK) in having a straighter aedeagal shaft and the basal processes of the aedeagus slenderer and shorter than aedeagal shaft (
Fig. 48I
) and the male pygofer lacking a dorsal marginal process (
Fig. 48D
).
