Paratype ♂ , Colombia , Cundinamarca , Chingaza National Park , Quebrada Piedras Gorgas , 19.iv.2018 , hand net , leg. W. Mey ( MfN ) Etymology. The name is derived from the river La Vieja, the place where the species was collected at first. Description. Male: Length of each forewing 5.1–6.9 mm , wingspan 12–14 mm . Head dark brown, setal warts light brown; antennae brown, each with scape and terminal flagellomeres pale brown; labial palpi and labrum pale grey; thorax chestnut brown, legs brown, spurs 2.4.3, spurs unmodified; fore- and hind wings fuscous, forewings in apical part of discoidal cell with oval patch of pure white hairs ( Fig. 16B ); anterolateral gland of sternum V behind oval thickening without process. Male genitalia ( Figs 8 A–8C): Tergum IX triangular in lateral view, anterior margin with deep U-shaped emargination in dorsal view, posterior margin slightly protruding and with small notch in middle; sternum IX long in lateral view, anterior margin with pair of slender, short apophyses, ventral margin slightly convex and dorsolateral margins relatively straight in lateral view, in ventral view sternum IX subrounded in appearance, posterior margin nearly straight in ventral view; preanal appendages long and sinuous, apices somewhat enlarged and rounded; inferior appendages each with broad, sub-quadrangular basal part abruptly separated from slender, clubbed, apical part, mesal side with series of small, black teeth; tergum X large with sclerotized dorsal ridge, membranous dorsoapically, ventral apex produced distad; phallic apparatus long and straight, reaching anterad to segment VI, flared at base and otherwise tubular to membranous, slightly widened tip with dorsal slit, middle section with spine-like structures on outer surface. Diagnosis. The species belongs to the subgenus Antillotrichia Banks 1941 , which is characterized by unmodified tibial spurs, absence of black spines on the median sides of the inferior appendages, and a simple tergum X. According to the male genitalia, the new species is similar to X. surinamense Flint 1974a and X. mnesteus Schmid 1982 , but can be distinguished by the peculiar shape of the inferior appendages each with its subquadrangular basal part.
