Type material: Almeida and Milléo (2000) incorrectly designated a ZMNB specimen of Hinda regularis as lectotype because it had the same characteristics described by Erichson. Drs. Manfred Uhlig and Bernd Jaeger ( ZMHB ) discovered this error; the appropriate specimen in the ZMHB bears a lectotype label attached by Gordon in 1971, but that designation was not published. We here designate the following specimen as lectotype : a male, with genitalia in glycerin vial, with the following labels: white [4441], green [ regularis Er. , Peru Tsch.], white [ LECTOTYPE , Hyperaspis regularis Erichson Gordon 1971 ], green [Hist.-Coll ( Coleoptera ) Nr. 4441, Hyperaspis regularis Er. , Peru , v. Tschudi, Zoo. Mus. Berlin], red [ HOLOTYPUS , Hyperaspis regularis Erichson, 1847 , labeled by ZMHB 2003]. Erichson (1847) gave no indication how many specimens he had when describing this species. Therefore we consider a lectotype designation necessary in spite of the “ HOLOTYPUS ” label.
