) piriform, with pronounced anterior angles, spiculum gastrale short, firmly and broadly attached to ventrite. Terminal tergite as in

Habitat:
Perkins (1980)
suggested that this species is adapted to lotic environments. In eastern
Cuba
, it was collected in shallow margins of a wide range of aquatic habitats, from clear permanent running streams (
Fig. 63
) to standing temporary water bodies with abundant organic matter (
Fig. 60
). This species is mostly found at low altitudes, ranging from sea level to
100 m
a.s.l., although it has also been collected at approximately
770 m
a.s.l.
