Distantasca longihamatilis
, 7, male pygofer, lateral
Ground colour of body yellow. Crown with yellow-cream patch on each side of coronal suture. Eyes black. Pronotum with irregular patches on anterior margin of pronotum and under eyes. Forewing and hind wing hyaline, hind wing infuscated. Abdomen yellow. Legs light yellow to green.Ventral abdominal apodemes subparallel-sided, reaching segment IV (Fig 15). Pygofer in lateral view with posterior margin broadly rounded; 7–8 stout setae in group along posterior margin, few slim setae near stout setae group (Fig 7); pygofer appendage exceeding pygofer margin, curved dorsally (Fig 8). Anal tube well-developed, a basal process which is curved anterad, like a long hook (Fig 13). Subgenital plate in lateral view, curved gradually caudodorsad apically, not expanded apically; with numerous macrosetae and fine setae somewhat irregular; group A with 3–4 long stout setae subbasally; group B with 13–14 short microsetae on apical half (Fig 9). Paramere with 6 teeth on dentifer, 6–7 setae subapically (Fig 12). Connective broad, stem only weakly constricted, anterior margin concave (Fig 14). Aedeagal shaft well sclerotized, aedeagus relatively thin, expanding gradually to atrium, shaft thin and subparallel-sided (Figs 10–11).Etymology.
The specific epithet is derived from Latin “
longihamatilis
” which refers to the long hooklike shape of the anal tube process.
Diagnosis.
The new species is similar to
Distantasca atika
Dworakowska
but differs from the latter in having the male abdominal apodemes much shorter, the pygofer appendage more strongly curved dorsally, the subgenital plate with group C setae extended to the apex and the aedeagus shaft straight in lateral view.
