In our study area, L. hyalinus was collected on a small puddle along an unpaved dirt road, as well as on lakes, lagoons, rivers, and streams. It has been found along the Atlantic and Pacific slopes, at elevations up to 700 m a.s.l., and is herein recorded for the first time from Heredia , Guanacaste , and Puntarenas provinces.
